On Thursday 5 March 2026 the Mayor presented Gail Ackerley the Treasurer from Market Drayton Foodbank with a cheque.

“I was delighted today to present a cheque to Market Drayton Foodbank for £425-00.
An amazing total of £500-00 was raised from the Mayor’s Charity Quiz of which £200-00 was allocated to Market Drayton Foodbank together with an additional £225-00 from the Mayors Fund making a total of £425-00.
Market Drayton Foodbank plays a crucial role in our Town in alleviating hunger, reducing food waste, and providing essential support to members of our community.
I’d like to thank Market Drayton Foodbank for their stellar efforts in helping our Town.
I’d also like to thank everyone that attended the quiz, helping to raise these invaluable and much needed funds. THANK YOU”
