Foodbank News from Market Drayton
Another challenging year is nearly over and you’ve all helped to contribute towards feeding and signposting hundreds of local people in crisis.
Helen McSherry Manager at Market Drayton Foodbank shared the following information
‘We’ve given out 1117 parcels feeding 2889 people of which 1790 were adults and 1099 were children with over 42 tonnes of food. On top of that, over the past couple of days, we’ve distributed 56 Christmas lunch hampers containing over half a tonne of Christmas turkey and goodies!’
Well done to Rotary, Foodbank, Refill Emporium, Fordhall Farm, Supermarkets, Churches Together and all the community volunteers who support this work. To achieve what foodbank did last year, reflects on what a caring community we have in this area.
